Maintenance with Mark

     Please welcome our newest staff members! Wyncote will begin utilizing sheep to mow down some of the naturalized areas on the golf course. The course superintendent is working with a local veterinarian, who graciously is supplying us with some free labor in the form of 6 sheep on a trial basis, for this project. The sheep are currently in a corral until they are acclimated a bit more to their new home. At that point they will be released into an 1.5 acre area of naturalized grass to do what they do best. The area is surrounded by a movable electric fence that can be rotated around the golf course where their work is desired. They will be well monitored, well fed/watered, and well cared for. Like with all our maintenance staff, please give them the space to do their work(also avoid the electric fence).  Wyncote hopes that their addition to the course will help shine light on our efforts to be stewards of the environment.

     Also, we are continuing our long relationship with Audubon International as a Certified Cooperative Sanctuary, and a member of the new Monarchs in the Rough program. A program that helps us use our 80+ acres of naturalized areas to promote pollinators such as bees and monarch butterflies by planting milkweed and wildflowers.
